Thursday April 4th, 2018 | 6:30pm-8:30pm
A self-practice can be tailored to fit into our busy lives when we cannot make it to class or when we travel, and is also a wonderful way to build body awareness and connection. It helps us to learn to move at our own pace, listen and respond to our body and develop greater consistency and frequency in our yoga practice. In this workshop, we will work together to help you develop a personal practice.
You'll learn fundamentals and tools to help start or build upon your self-practice. We'll explore groups of asanas (poses) and basic, safe sequencing as well as other aspects of practice including accessible techniques for meditation and pranayama (breath-work). We'll discuss useful tips and guidelines on setting up your practice space and how to modify your practice to meet your daily needs. We'll do an exercise to help you tune in more deeply to what feels good in your body so you can create a flow that works for you. You'll be empowered with your customized sequence and tools so that you can leave feeling ready to unroll your mat at home with confidence. This workshop is open to yoga students of all levels; some yoga experience is recommended.
